Terms of Service

By creating an account or using RoomOnlyChat ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and RoomOnlyChat. Use of the Service by individuals under 13 is not permitted.

RoomOnlyChat provides a closed-loop group communication platform where members can participate in shared rooms using room-specific aliases without exposing personal contact information to other members.

We offer a Free plan and optional paid plans (Plus, Pro). The features available under each plan are described at roomonlychat.app/pricing and may be updated with notice.

The Service is currently in Early Access. During this period, all core features are available without charge and without requiring a payment card. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before introducing any limitations on the Free plan or requiring payment for previously free features.

Early Access features and availability are subject to change as we iterate on the product.

You must provide a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may not create accounts for others without their consent, or use the Service to impersonate another person.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or abusive.
• Share content that exploits or endangers minors in any way.
• Distribute spam, malware, or unsolicited commercial messages.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or another user's account.
• Collect or harvest personal data about other users.
• Circumvent privacy features designed to protect member identity.
• Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable law.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these provisions.

If you create a room, you are the "organizer" and are responsible for the content and conduct within that room. You agree to:

• Use admin tools (approval, removal, moderation) in good faith and in compliance with these Terms.
• Not use your admin access to harvest, misuse, or expose member data.
• Respond reasonably to abuse reports.

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting content, you grant RoomOnlyChat a limited, non-exclusive license to store and display that content to authorized room members as part of the Service.

We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for advertising or train AI models on private room content without your consent.

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

Refunds are not provided for partial subscription periods. If you downgrade, your current-tier features remain available through the end of the paid period.

We may change plan pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes apply to renewals, not the current paid period.

One-time room upgrades are non-refundable once the room is activated.

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service with reasonable notice.

You may delete your account at any time. Account deletion removes your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate accounts for violation of these Terms, extended inactivity, or at our discretion with reasonable notice.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

RoomOnlyChat provides privacy-oriented tools but cannot guarantee absolute security or prevent all misuse by other users.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROOMONLYCHAT'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM USE OF THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which RoomOnlyChat is incorporated. Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration where permitted by applicable law.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
